Chinon Rouge is the flagship cuvée of Château de La Grille. To maintain its level of excellence, vintages from more challenging years are not bottled to retain only the best and uphold its title as the “Exception of Chinon”.
Garnet robe. Candied nose with beautiful black fruit aromas, complemented by peppery, spicy notes with a hint of licorice. A bold attack with intense flavors and fine, serious, and generous tannins. Very fleshy and compact on the palate. Powerful and refined wine with notes of black fruits. Long finish with hints of cherries, blackberries, and blueberries.
Serve with matured meats such as marinated rib steak, game, or wild boar stew. From the garden, it pairs well with spicy piperade, charred eggplant, or pan-fried wild mushrooms.
Served slightly chilled.
