Vin Rouge

The 28-hectare vineyard of Château de La Grille is planted only with the grape varietal Cabernet Franc on clay-limestone soil, around the castle.

The harvest is always made by hand. Built in 1970 by Albert GOSSET, the winery was already equipped with tools which allowed to vinify the production of Chateau de La Grille in the best conditions: vatting by gravity, stainless steel tanks, thermoregulation, punching down (pigeage)...

After 12 to 15 months in barrels the wine is put in special bottles which are a reproduction of a Champagne bottle dating back to 18th century. It completes its maturation in cellars for at least one to two years.

The homogeneity of the terroir with a high quality standard and a savoir-faire from Champagne have made Chateau de La Grille as the " exceptional Chinon ".
