Chinon Rosé 2023 (75 cl)

10 €

Located in Cravant-les-Coteaux, the main village of the CHINON AOP, the vineyard of Domaine de la Perrière now stretches across 30 hectares. Set at a reasonable distance from the river’s deep water table, these poor, well-drained soils allow Cabernet Franc to express its finest qualities.

ESTATE AND VINEYARD STORY
Christophe not only inherited the land but also a deep passion for the vineyards and Cabernet Franc wines. Always seeking the simple, refreshing pleasure of ripe summer fruit, carefully captured in each bottle: “I took over the estate in 1990 with the aim of continually improving, crafting fresh and fruity wines, and sharing my passion for the land, the vines, and our CHINON wines. Since 2003, I’ve been working alongside Jean-Martin, who joined me as a partner.” Together, Christophe and Jean-Martin are committed to advancing sustainable farming practices to protect both the soil and the vines. After three years of transition, they proudly validated organic certification in 2021.
CUVÉE STORY
To preserve the fruity freshness, the grapes are harvested at night. This rosé is obtained through a gentle pressing of the whole clusters. Only the first juices are kept. Cold settling on the lees, followed by a slow, cold fermentation, helps reveal both the intensity and aromatic complexity of the wine.
TASTING
Pale pink in color, with an intense nose of rhubarb and fresh fruit, accented by citrus notes. The palate is fresh and fruity.
FOOD & WINE PAIRING
A thirst-quenching wine for the height of summer, perfect for pairing with spicy dishes.
