Craftsmen of Wine and Culture
The story of BAUDRY & DUTOUR began in 1993 when Christophe BAUDRY, owner of DOMAINE DE LA PERRIÈRE in Cravant-les-Côteaux, whose family had been winemakers for generations, met Jean-Martin DUTOUR, recently graduated, who had arrived in Chinon to take over DOMAINE DU RONCÉE. The two winemakers quickly became friends, sharing their tools, experiences and talents. Their complementary skills led to the creation of BAUDRY & DUTOUR in 2003.
Drawing on their experience as winemakers and their significant involvement in local collective organizations, they explored the unique relationship between people and wine. Wine is a unique product, and its relationship with humanity is complex and reciprocal: Humanity creates wine and wine serves humanity.

Contemporary men looking to the future, they are aware of the challenges faced by winemakers. Among these, adapting to climate change is a priority, requiring them to evolve to find a new approach, as the status quo is no longer sustainable.
More than ever, the pursuit of quality is a balance between these challenges, knowledge, and culture, essential to produce « on purpose ». Loyal to the heritage of Rabelais, born in Chinon, the two winemakers have developed complementary roles over the years to share their culture.
At Château de La Grille, after renovating the vineyard and park, they focused on restoring the Domaine to its former glory while respecting its original soul. From simple tastings to private events at the Château, walking in the park or visiting the cellar, they have made this culture accessible, from the terroirs to the château lifestyle in the Loire Valley.
In 2020, in TOURS, they renovated an old shop in Rue des Cordeliers, to create a store dedicated to BOOKS and WINES. In a warm and welcoming space, they offer all their cuvees and a selection of over 1,000 book references on food in all its forms: wine, gastronomy, cuisine, literature. These multiple venues provide opportunities to bring the unique relationship between wine, place, and culture to life.
