“I took over the vineyard in 1990 with the goal of continually progressing towards producing fresh, fruity quality wines, and sharing my passion for my land, the vines, and our Chinon wines.” Christophe BAUDRY represents the sixth generation at the head of the vineyard. Like his ancestors, he has contributed to the domaine’s history.
Since 1778, the Baudry family has cared for the vineyard of Domaine de La Perrière, located in Cravant-les-Côteaux, a village at the heart of the Chinon appellation. The history of the domaine intertwines with family history; generations follow one another, each eager to preserve the traditions of the past while evolving and improving practices to leave their mark.
“To understand the geographical location well, one must imagine the wide alluvial valley of the Vienne River. Over the millennia , the river has often changed its course. The oldest alluvial deposits, slightly clayey gravel, form hills called ‘puys’,” Christophe BAUDRY.
