EXPERIENCE RANGE

The label illustration was found on the labels of some bottles preserved from the “Château de La Grille” dating back to the 1920s ! Dionysos and Bacchus, the Greek god and his Roman counterpart. mHe is the deity of the vine, wine, madness, and excess. The god of life, the forces that develop the plant and animal world, he is the one who, by causing drunkenness, “liberates” the most natural and even wild human instincts. Dionysos is a paradoxical, contradictory figure, with many faces and representations. The one here as a little devil with goat hooves, the other as a good-natured, plump drinker enjoying the blessings of the earth.

CUVÉE STORY

PINEAU D’AUNIS, also known as CHENIN NOIR, is a native but obscure grape of the LOIRE VALLEY. Christophe BAUDRY and Jean-Martin DUTOUR reveal in this cuvée its unique character: an unusual alliance of aromatic freshness from tart berries and warm spices.

VINTAGE

After a mild and wet winter, the vine budburst was among the earliest. With a sunny spring, frosts spared the vineyard, which continued this early development. . The summer drought concentrated the grapes, producing small but healthy and rich bunches. The life-saving rains at the end of August prevented ripening blockages, ensuring a harvest in optimal conditions. Ultimately, an early vintage with exceptional ripeness and quality.
